GMI is a German based non profit with a vision of helping people in Southeast Asia to better and more self-determined lives by providing them with access to microcredit, counseling and training. This is done in close cooperation with our local partners.
Starting on 1st December 2020, GMI and BPR SIWI started a new project : "Kredit Tanpa Agunan" (Non Collateral loan). This is achieved in particular, by granting microloans to micro businesses and providing business training for these micro entrepreneurs.
Microloans are very small loans between IDR 1,000,000 (US$ 70) - IDR 5,000,000 (US$ 350) that are given to disadvantages people whose income, if any, is insufficient to either start their own business or to provide enough for their own families. We grant microloans exclusively for business purposes, so that repayment is also possible and helps people in the long term. Loans are certainly not a panacea for poverty, but they can help entrepreneurial individuals, and thus their families, lead a better life.
